How To Treat Burning Sensation In Gums?

I just warmed up a boiled egg that has been refrigerated. Once I took it out and proceeded to bite into it, it exploded in my mouth. The little piece that I bit went onto the floor but it tore my gums up at the top of my mouth. Any suggestions on what to do to stop the burn and my gums from peeling? YYYY@YYYY

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain the egg must have burnt your gums leading to burning and peeling...

First thing you should do to apply ice over the burnt gums.
It will help you relieve from severe burning and discomfort..

Keep sucking ice popsicles to relieve burning..

Keeping cold water in mouth can also help in reducing pain and inflammation..

You can apply numbing gels like orabase gel or mucopain gel as it will numb the area and provide relief from pain and burning sensation..

For pain and inflammation IBUPROFEN or CALPOL can provide relief..

In case of severe inflammation steroid gels can also be applied..

Avoid hot, spicy and hard foods..

Do not irritate the burnt area by touching with tongue again and again..

Keep yourself well hydrated by drinking plenty of water and other fluids..

Maintain very good oral hygeine to avoid infections...

It takes around 7 to 10 days to heal..

In case there are no signs of improvement or if any signs of infection are seen you should consult a dentist..

Hope you get well soon..

Thanks and regards..
