How To Treat Burning Sensation In Throat?

Have an unknown chemical burn in my throat, went to hospital and was just given antacid and pain killer there. Was told to drink water but doesn t seem to be getting better this was 5 days ago (on Monday night, the burn occurred earlier in the day and just got worse until I had to go to the hospital ) How long until it heals ? any way to make it heal faster?
