How To Treat Cataract For A Diabetic Male ?

Hi, my name is Ravi and i have certain queries related to Motiabind. My father is 67 years of age and is diabetic too. He is suffering from Motiabind in both of his eyes. Doctor suggested us to go for operation and asked us to get certain tests done before proceeding for operation. One of the test report, diabetic, has come out very disappointing. Fasting report shows 180 which should be between 70-100 and post fasting is 290 which should be 100-140. I heard Doctors refuse to operate if diabetic is found high or above certain level. What should be the minimum level that allows operations for Motiabind.

Hello,

To obtain fit for surgery the blood sugar should be brought to control.
In this situation I would put my patients on insulin to control the blood sugar. His blood sugar can be monitored if he is hospitalized. Once the blood sugar is controlled and no other medical contraindication then he can be taken up for Cataract surgery.
