How To Treat Chest Discomfort Caused Due To Cough And Congestion?
Is this a free service? If so I have a medical question. I will go ahead and ask now. My husband is 63 and is coughing a lot. He is a little congested, and is weak. he had a flu shot about a month ago. He is eating with no problems. He just feels bad.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chest discomfort caused due to cough and congestion which is because of viral infection/ upper respiratory infection. Need not to worry. You should avoid taking cold carbonated beverages and hot, sharp and spicy food. You should take steam inhalation. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. Doctor may order blood tests and x-ray chest. Doctor may order pulmonary function tests to detect level of infection. Do warm saline gargles three times daily. Taking decongestant nasal spray can also be relieving. You should take hot milk boiled with half a teaspoon of turmeric. Drink lukewarm water on daily basis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
