How To Treat Chest Pain And Breathlessness Caused Due To A Injury?

About 12 days ago I was accidentally elbowed in the chest very hard. Upon impact it took my breath away and hurt significantly. It has almost been 2 weeks but I feel extreme pain between my breasts when I curl my shoulders forward, move in a certain way (mostly in bed) or touch that area. I am being over worried I am sure but of something, serious or life threatening was going on it would have happened by now correct? I am laying in bed and my whole chest is throbbing. It just makes me feel like I can t breathe which makes me feel anxious.

Hello and welcome.

Nothing serious can happen from such an injury although I would still recommend a chest xray. Just to make sure your ribcage is normal.

Once this is ruled out, then we can suspect ligament and muscular injury. In such a situation rest, ice application and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications can be used to reduce inflammation and pain.

Best wishes.
