How To Treat Chronic Cough, Discontinued Antibiotics After Increased Thrush?

i have had a loose cough for about 5-6 weeks i been to doctors which she gave me antibiotics for but after takin them for 3 days i got thrush really bad and i stopped taking them , should i go back to my doctors ? or can you help me with a cure for ths cough i have ?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Antibiotics can sometimes cause thrush due to changes in the normal bacteria flora.

You may have to go back to your doctor for another course of antibiotics. You can use thrush medication if this recurs.

In addition, the use of mucolytics to break up the mucus may be helpful. Examples are mucomyst, bisolvan, robotussin
Using adequate amounts of fluids would also help to reduce the thickness of the secretions so that they can be expelled easier.
