How To Treat Cold Sores Inside Mouth And Red Bumps Under Tongue?

Hi, lately I ve had a breakout of cold sores inside my mouth on my bottom lip close to my gums. Yesterday I noticed large red bumps under my tongue on the base (believe the areas are called sublingual papilla/frenillum). My tongue is also starting to turn purple underneath. I ve searched what it could be and all I could find was that it was a natural inflammatory response from all the salt water and medicine I had put in my mouth to get rid of the cold sores. I have no idea what s going on. HELPPP!!

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that the breakouts that you have inside the mouth in the form of red bumps under the tongue and sores everywhere inside mouth along with tongue turning purple underneath is not due to viral infection causing cold sores but seems to be due to a severe case of Apthous Stomatitis leading to apthous ulcers...
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a oral swab culture can help in diagnosis..
You can be advised to start taking Vitamin Bcomplex supplements for atleast one month..
You can also be advised to take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofe.
Do warm saline gargles.
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
You can gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia..
Suck ice pops.
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
