How To Treat Cold With Occasional Coughing Up Of Blood Associated Phlegm?

I had a cold a couple of days ago and since then I ve ocassionally coughed up phlegm with tiny specs of blood In it. I quit smoking a couple of months ago and smoked for approx 5 years at about a pack a week. I m 28 years old with no other health problems.

I can understand your concern.
You are having hemoptysis (blood in sputum).
Since you were a smoker, hemoptysis is commonly seen with bronchitis, lung infection and lung cancer.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray, PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and CT thorax.
Chest x ray and CT thorax are needed for lung infection and cancer.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need antibiotic or inhaled treatment based on diagnosis.
