How To Treat Cough And Cold?

I feel like there is something cold in my lungs and in my throat. I have had a cough for 2 weeks that has produced a small amount of mucus. No other symptoms. The doctor gave me z-pac last Saturday, which hasn't helped. I went to the pharmacy yesterday and got a bottle of cough syrup with codine and expectorant.

thanks for asking your question
I completely understand your question
no need of codeine it will retain the sputum and as a side effect it can cause constipation. have a cough expectorant like a syrup containing guaphenesin and ambroxol.
and along with that you need a broad spectrum antibiotic like cefexime
you need to get a chest xray done to rule out tuberculosis or any infective lower resp tract infection.
you need to consult a pulmonologist to rule out the above mentioned diseases and to start the above mentioned treatment
thanks / regards

may god bless you with good health
