Should I bring my two year old to the doctor as he has a cough and runny nose with the last 3 weeks. My other child who is 3.5 years had it aswell, still coughing at night a month after being to the doctor , which he was give an antibotic and Exputex cough medicine
hello, running nose of your daughter can be cured by giving her levocetrizine 5mg tablets just before she goes to bed. If she is having nasal block you can administer her 2 drops of oxymetazolin or Xylometazolin nasal drops which comes specifically for pediatric use or even 2 drops of normal saline could help clear the block. For cough you can give 3ml of Exputex itself. no antibiotic will be needed until she has got sputum in her chest or fever. If she did not respond to this treatment then you can take her to a local pediatrician.
