How To Treat Cracked Heel Bone?

I shattered my heel bone in Aug. 2013, had surgery september 11,2013. A plate and 16 screws was put in my foot to replace my shattered bone. I am still having alot of problems with it. I can only stand for about ten minuted on my foot with out having major pain. My foot gets swollen often, and I have pain everyday that requires me to take precriptions pain medication. Will these problems ever get any less severe.
