How To Treat Cracks And Pain On Hands After Using Reclast?
Do you know of any antidote for side effects of reclast, the treatment for osteoporosis. My palms of my hands are all cracked and crusty, and where it is cracked, it is very raw and painful. It itches constantly. I can hardly sleep for it, and when I do, I scratch them in my sleep. I have been to three doctors. They give me cortisone, which helps, but it does not stop it. I had the injection in February, 2014. Is there anything I can do to counteract these side effects?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, you are having palmer keratoderma. My treatment advice is :
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a vitamin A supplement once daily for 3 months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
