How To Treat Cramps And Diarrhea Leading To Weight Loss?

my daughter just moved to Texas in February. She has been complaining of cramps with diarrhea for several weeks now. I told her to stop drinking there water and she has but she still continues to have cramps with real watery diarrha and she feels she is losing weight. When it started she stated it was almost bloody but now she says its more like yellowish. I don t know what to tell her, should she see a Dr or is there something she can take to take care of this problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Chronic diarrhea should be investigated. It can be due to : (1) inflammatory bowel disease most commonly crohns or ulcerative colitis
(2)irritable bowel syndrome
(3)infections
(4)food allergies
(5)diabetes if nerves affected
(6)hypothyroidism
(7)side effect of medication

Her doctor would need to examine her. Investigations would also be needed such as stool sample to the lab and imaging.

I hope this helps
