Hello, my name is Taylor and I am 19 years old. Two weeks ago on a Tuesday I consumed some psilocybin mushrooms with a few friends. Six days later on a Monday I started to get centralized upper abdominal pain and watery (but not bloody) diarrhea. I also had some extreme nausea but never actually threw up. On Wednesday morning I went to see a doctor, after suffering through Monday and Tuesday, and he told me I have Gastritis. He told me to start taking Zantac twice a day and that I should be better in a week or so. The pills do help with the symptoms but I don t feel like they re actually helping to cure the problem. So I have a few questions that I hope can be answered. 1) Could the mushrooms have caused a bacterial infection? I have done them before (about 5 times spread over 3 years) and none of my friends got sick from the ones we ate on Tuesday. 2) I also smoke a lot of marijuana (though not since I got gastritis) could this be related? 3) Is it life threatening and are there any specific symptoms that can help tell the difference between a common virus or a serious infection? 4) Is there any other better cures (preferably natural, I hate pills) that would work better and/or faster than the Zantac that I m taking now? 5) Would Ginger ale help?Any help or advice would be much appreciated. My current symptoms as of today are watery diarrhea, mild dehydration, abdominal discomfort, and lack of appetite. My diet is usually poor (greasy food, sugary drinks) but since Monday I ve been eating a lot less and a lot healthier and drinking only water. Thank you for patiently reading this and I hope I will get a reply soon.
