How To Treat Delusional Jealousy In Men?

I think my husband is suffering from delusional jealousy. He is accusing me of having an affair with another man on internet. Which is entirely not true. This has been going on for more than a year and no day passes that we never quarrel due to his wrong accusations. This started when I went away to give birth and he was left alone in another country for about six months. he kept begging me to come back soon as he said he couldnt survive alone. He was so lonely that time and became suspicious of me when I couldn t be available for him and then he drank. we are married for three years but maybe the total time we spent together is maybe just a year or more. Because I ran away from him two times due to his delusional jealousy. He became verbally abusive to me and physically hit me a few times. My husband is a very loving man. He is a good man if not because of this. I know he doesn t like whats going on but control it. He firmly believes I m cheating on him. He said he saw me naked on camera talking with another man on another camera. we are separated now, this is the second time I ran away. When he gets too angry he threatens to harm me. He is asking me to go back to him. He said when we will be together everything will be OK. He said that all these doubts are result of us being always apart from each other. And he said I always run away can t solve the problem but makes him more believe I have another man. Sometimes he agrees to seek treatment but not taking any step. Doctor, my question is. Is it true that our separation triggers his delusional jealousy? If i Come back to him will it go away with proper treatment? I want to save him and our marriage but I am also scared of my and my daughter s safety. What is the right thing to do?

Hi
I had gone through the question and understand your concern
I have seen almost similar case in my clinic.
In my opinion , your husband is suffering frim "othello syndrome". In this condition person usually thinks that his/her is cheating .

The right thing to do is to gain his confidence by talking to him.about it and consult a psychiatrist.
Consultung a psychiatrist would be of great help for both of you.

If tbe psychiatrist prescribe any medicines, then make sure that he takes it daily.
And yes , staying apart do increases the chances of such thoughts.

If i were the consulting doctor , i would have prescribed him.tablet arip-mt 10 to be taken at night after dinner .

Hope this information helps.
Let me know.if you have any other queries.
Thank you
