Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Eye Strain, headache And Dizziness While Suffering From Labyrinthitis?
I ve had Labyrinthitus for over 4 weeks now and although there has been a slight improvement in symptoms, if I exert myself (i.e by doing a bit of housework) my dizziness gets it worse again, accompanied by bad eye strain, headaches, tiredness and aching joints. The doctor has said its a virus, is it usual for it to last this long? I m currently signed off work.
I would like to know your age and gender. Do you have dizziness and balance issues even at rest ?
Labyrinthitis itself should not give you headache, tiredness, achy joints and eyestrain. This could be a kind of viral illness if you do not have dizziness at rest.
Viral illness can cause all these symptoms but they should not lost this long.
Does anyone in your family have neurological diseases. I would like you to see a neurologist to evaluate for any myasthenia. This is an unusual diagnosis with your presenting complaints.
I will be very happy if you do not have this. But certainly I would want you to check for this.
