Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Fatigue, depression And Anxiety While Suffering From Hypothyroidism?
I have hypothyroidism and take 112mcg. Dealing with it for several years, I would like to know a good multivitamins to take that can help with lack of energy, depression, anxiety, racing thoughts, these did not exist before the hypothyroid. Plus I take 4G celexa.
You have mentioned the Levothyroxine dosage that is being taken, but no mention of recent TSH and T4 levels. The symptoms that have been mentioned particularly lack of energy, lethargy and even depressive tendency are seen if TSH is not well controlled.
Ideally, it should be around 3 mU/L and T4 i the normal range. Then all the symptoms are in control. As regards vitamin supplements, any good brand is beneficial. But most important is to maintain TSH well within the limits mentioned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
