How To Treat Fever And Cough Despite Giving Advil And Nebulizer?

Hi I have a 7 y/o son asthmatic that have being sick for the past 4 days. I have giving him advil for his fever every 8 hours but still coming back, also I have used the nebulizer every 4 hours and he still very congested and has a cough that is more than a week old. Should I take him to the ER.Thanks

By the description in your query your son seems to have an upper respiratory tract infection since he has fever and cough for a couple of days. Advil and Nebulizer help to control fever and asthma but can't cure the infection.
The infection may be due to a virus that affects respiratory tract, since he has congestion or by a bacteria too.

You should contact your primary care doctor to do an auscultation of his lungs, mouth and throat inspection.

Than your doctor will prescribe you the medication
for the condition your son has.
