How To Treat For Pain In My Left Calf After Delivery?

I am postpartum (delivered 10-2-2012) and am suddenly having (minor) pain in my left calf. I suspect a possible blood clot issue. How can I tell if that is what it is, and what treatment should I make at home? I'd prefer not to run to the hospital if possible. :)

Hi,

I think that you should start a course of analgesics and anti-spasmodic Drotaverine for 5 days and antibiotics also.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
