How To Treat Genital Fissures Despite Using Estrogen Patch For Menopause?

I have genital fissures and it seems like a skin condition. I am in menopause and have an estrogen patch which has helped; my other rashes are much better, but the genitalia are still not doing well. And recently, I found out I have low thyroid, so I am now taking Levothyroxin and my levels are now perfect .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to fissures due to menopause. A water-soluble vaginal lubricant may help to provide relief during intercourse, for mild cases. Petroleum jelly, mineral oil, or other oils are not suitable. Other possible alternatives are hormone replacement therapy. You should consult your gynecologist for further details.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
