As per my clinical experience, there are various reasons for the vocal cord phonatory gap producing harsh voice such as: - Vocal cord flaccidity - Muscular dystonia - Tissue loss - Vocal cord paralysis
However, the indirect laryngoscopy findings are of paramount importance to evaluate the possible cause and the management depends upon the cause.
