General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are various reasons for the vocal cord phonatory gap producing harsh voice such as:
- Vocal cord flaccidity
- Muscular dystonia
- Tissue loss
- Vocal cord paralysis

However, the indirect laryngoscopy findings are of paramount importance to evaluate the possible cause and the management depends upon the cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
