How To Treat Headache?

4 yrs. ago I experienced the worst pain in my head, just behind my right eye and temple. I seen three specialists; a MRI of my head was done and I was told I had hardening of the arteries in my head. I was given a script for Apo-indomethacin 25mg. I was in shock and never asked what I should expect in the future. The pain has returned but not as severe as the first time. Can you advise what I should do?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and the brain scan findings.

Based on the description, it seems that there was evidence of brain ischemia (lack of blood flow) on the scan done last time. Hardening of arteries could lead to reduced blood supply to brain.

Ischemia is a common cause of headache. If that was the case, you should also be on aspirin tablets to prevent further ischemia of brain.

If headache does not subside, you should see a neurologist and get a brain MRI done.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
