How To Treat Hearing Loss And Severe Pain Caused After A Injury?
My boyfriend was in close proximity when a gun shot went off yesterday. His ear has been hurting him since. He went swimming today & now he is in severe pain. He can t hear out of it. He feels like there is water stuck inside of it. His pain is at a 10. Is there anything we can do for his hearing & pain. Do we need to go to the hospital.
Severe pain with hearing loss after gun shot proximity indicates damage to sensory nerves responsible for transmission of sound waves to inner ear and cochlear system. He requires immediate evaluation at an ER with ENT specialist to look into the matter, cause of the same and manage accordingly. Giving analgesic medication as ibuprofen (400 mg) after meals if there is no history of drug sensitivity is best way to get pain relief for some instance till ER visit. He must not pour anything inside affected ear and keep the ear plugged with sterile cotton.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
