How To Treat Heart Enlargement With Dilated LV In A 76 Years Old Female?

Dear Doctors group, My mother is 76 year old. Recently she was told to have heart enlargement, Dilated LV. Cardiologist suggested to use medicine for life long. He said they are for blood thinning and to control colostrol and things like that. Is this the only process in general for old people with heart enlargement. Please help and comment.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your mother, looking to the history you gave here I could say that this could be chronic congestive heart failure I actually treat such cases with the digitalis, and bronchodilator, diuretic, and I guess these treatment she must be receiving, you can have word with her doctor for this, for the dilated Left ventricle nothing much can be done this will remain like this only rest of her life, the general condition is main concern, hope this information helps you, take a good care of your mother and no need to worry, have nice day.
