How To Treat Heavy Bleeding With Clots During Periods?

I have iron deficiency anemia. I am supposed to take iron 325mg twice daily. I am not very compliant to be honest. I bruise very easily. Recently I have been experiencing bleeding with intercourse along with abnormal periods. My cycle can be very heavy at times including passing of clots sometimes the size of a ping pong ball. Can this be due to the anemia?
