How To Treat Heavy Menstrual Bleed?

I took the plan b one step pill in september. For 8 days now ive had heavy menstrual bleeding. Im also taking birth control and often "skip" my period by going straight into a new pack of pills. Should i be concerned about the length of my heavy bleeding?

Hi,

I would suggest you to always take a pill free period during hormonal treatment since it allows the uterus to shed and maintain the routine of menstrual cycle. When taken regularly at the same time every day without missing any pills, you are safe even in the pill free period.

I would suggest you to visit your gynaecologist since you may need anti-fibrinolytics to reduce bleeding.Monitor your blood hemoglobin levels and avoid anemia with iron supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
