How To Treat Heavy Menstrual Flow?

my period has not stopped since may 20 and went & saw obgyn. was prescribed medroxyprogesterone to stop however it just slowed down. went back to the obgyn and now scheduling d & c procedure and ultrasound. I am concerned as my flow has been heavy now w/ crampage. I have to lay in the fetal position to alleviate some of the pain. what are your thoughts?
