How To Treat Hormonal Imbalances?

hello doctor !!
I have been dignosed of hypothyriodism and high prolactin levels 3 months back... Iam on medication....we are trying for a baby too.....I want to understand the reason for these two hormonal imbalance...how important is stress for this imbalance....apart from medication what other things should i take care of....how long will it take to get bac to normal?

Hi,

1. Hypothryoidism can stimulate the prolactin producing cells in pituitary - leading to increased prolactin. Stress can also elevate the prolactin

2.No need of a prolactin lowering drug, You can start on thyroxine hormone relacement which will normalise your thyroid function and prolactin in 4-6 weeks time.
