How To Treat Hypertrophic Non-obstructive Cardiomyopathy?

I am a 31 year old female, diagnosed with hypertrophic non-obstructive cardiomyopathy. Over the past few weeks I have been increasingly short of breath, develop a dry cough, and chest heaviness. I have the sensation that I can not take a full deep breath. I have been taking lasix on a regular basis as I have 1+ pitting edema in the lower extremities and abdominal fullness. Not sure if I am experiencing some minor CHF or if these symptoms are just expected. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy ( two types obstructive and non-obstructive) is characterized by left ventricular hypertrophy , typically of a non-dilated chamber , without obvious cause such as hypertension or aortic stenosis.
Now about the treatment point of view .
Condition may deteriorate just after physical exertion , competitive sports and probably strenuous activity , so these should be avoided in any condition.
Dehydration should be avoided in any condition and DIURETICS ( LASIX in your case) should be used with great caution.
Beta adrenergic blockers are often used and ameliorates angina pectoris ( as you mentioned that there is shortness of breath and fullness in stomach or abdomen ) , so these symptoms may subsides in your case.
Because this disease is a complex form so it is very hard to advise on this issue .
In my opinion consult one more CARDIOLOGIST and get his 2nd opinion about use of lasix and pitting edema .
All these things I mentioned in your case because diagnosis is already established .
Hope this information will helps you.
Good luck.
