How To Treat Intense Lower Back Caused After An Injury In The Elderly?

My father recently fell down the bathtub. After a few days later he complained of lower back pain. We took him in for an X-ray and findings came back normal. He is still having a lot of lower back pain and many days of complicated sitting and standing activities. What would be your best recommendation in his situation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to injury and possibly muscle pain.
I recommend using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.
I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.
I recommend to rest and avoid activities that can trigger the symptoms.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
