How To Treat Intense Pain At The Base Of Neck And Shoulders Due To Shingles?

Yes for the last two weeks I have been fighting the Shingles around the left shoylder, neck and left chest area,the base of my neck is where the pain at nite and it is horrific, nothing I do helps not ice pack or heating pad,is there something out there to relieve the neck pain

Regarding your symptom of intense pain at the base of the neck left shoulder left side of your chest following a diagnosed shingles I am suggesting that you have the following differential diagnosis

Cervical spondylitis
Nerve root lesion
SLE
Multiple sclerosis
Spinal cord compression
Spinal cord stenosis
Sternomastoiditis
Acute parotitis
Migrating arthritis

In view of this please do the following test
MRI
Cervical x-ray
ECG
C reactive protein
ANA electrophoresis
Serum amylase

Meanwhile please see an orthopaedic specialist with the results and for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription

Moreover please take some analgesic pending your appointment
