How To Treat Knee Pain Post Dilaudid Withdrawal?

HI. I m 58 had bilateral knee arthropod sty 9 weeks ago. I m weaning off the dilaudid, 2 mg. in two weeks I m down to two in 24 hrs from 8-10. Not sleeping well, today I feel as if I have flu like symptoms. Am I weaning off to fast? Advil helps with knee pain and that seems manageable. I just finished soaking in hot bath...any remedy suggestions? I want to be off these pills totally as soon as possible.

Hello,

No, you are not weaning off too fast. But you have started having side effects as the dose gets low.

Since you are a post-surgery patient yo should wean off Dilaudid through 'Transitional pain program' for post-surgical patients.

With the help of trained medical professionals & expert training staff, a patient can wean off successfully as his other symptoms (anxiety, depression& pain) are managed just in time.

You need to be taken care of while you wean. As you taper your dose get connected with your treating doctor so that you can get comfortably managed for all the symptoms that may cause you discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
