How To Treat Left Sided Mild Abdominal Pain?

Hi. I began having side abdominal pain (my left). The pain is mild, but can be slightly sharp at times. The pain has started to expand to the front of my stomach. The pain seems to dissipate when I m moving around. Just did a short 30 minute workout and didn t really notice it.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms could be related to different possible causes: a muscle pain, irritable bowel syndrome or gastritis, a kidney disorder, etc..

Coming to this point, if the pain persists, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- a chest X ray study
- an abdominal ultrasound
- complete blood count
- kidney and liver function tests
- CPK (muscle enzymes) levels
- lipase and amylase levels for pancreatitis.

If all the above tests result normal, there is nothing to worry about!

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
