My brother is 53 has had a lot of issues with drugs and alcohol a year ago they send him home to die he s been doing good off and on. Now he s in a hospital with his heart functioning from 20 to 13 and today at 7 % the dr says he has 48 hours to live. His organs are shutting down and his blood sugar is low. Can he survive this?

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your brother. I am sorry to say but with his heart at that low level, he is not getting enough blood to the organs, from liver to kidney to brain to lungs and intestines, so what happens is that his body and heart starves for oxygen and well needs nutrients and they start to shut down one by one. It becomes a matter of time. I cannot give you a time frame but all those a good estimates/guesstimates. I hope this helps and best of luck and thank you for your question.
