How To Treat Lump And Bruise On Face Caused After Injury?
I fell a month ago on my face, badly bruising my face from my eyebrow to my ear down to my throat. Bruising has gone except for the side of my face and I still have hard lump in my cheek about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Is there any treatment except time for it to go away?
Thanks for your query . Bruising and lump after injury is a common thing that occur due inflammation . But if it persist for more then 3 weeks then it is a hematoma .
Basically hematoma is collection of blood under the skin which apprea as bruise and lump . It formed due to remaining blood after injury that is not absorbed by body .
Hot compresses will be the best treatment for hematome . So give warm compresses several times a day . Also take ibuprofen(if not allergic) or acetaminophen for pain and swelling .
If it persist for more then a week then consult doctor or surgeon for proper evaluation to rule out condition like fracture or infection.and treatment .
Doctor may drain it or may prescribe ointment congaing anti coagulant agent like heparin.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
