hi, how to remove melasma from my face. i consulted a dermatologist and he prescribed me lomella cream(Hydroquinone), I have used it more than six months. no use it appears again after end of usage of cream. Pls give me a solution to remove hyperpigmentation
As per your query you have hyperpigmentation due to melasma . Well you have been using hydroquinone cream for last 6 month . Hydroquinone cream should not be used for so long without consulting dermatologist because of its side effects . I would suggest you to :-
- Immediately stop using this cream .
- Apply broad spectrum sunscreen whenever under sun exposure .
- Wash your face twice daily with mild soap and cold water .
-Apply kojic acid cream after washing face twice a day .
- Exfoliate your skin twice a week to remove dead skin .
Apply vitamin E oil at night .
If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoids . Doctor may also recommend laser therapy .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Dr. Harry Maheshwari
