Hi,

Usually menstrual cycles with a length of 21 to 35 days can be considered as normal.
So, sometimes getting two menstrual periods in one month is possible. But if your menstrual cycle length is shorter than 20 days, better to get evaluated.

The possible causes of shorter menstrual cycles are:

-Reproductive hormonal imbalance due to psychological factors, changes in diet, sleep, exercise, etc.
-Uterine causes like fibroids, adenomyosis etc.
-Ovarian causes like poly cystic ovarian disease, ovarian cysts, etc
-General causes like weight changes, thyroid abnormalities, etc.

If the irregularity persists, please consult your Gynecologist once, get examined and go for an ultrasound. With this work-up the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be planned accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
