How To Treat Mouth Ulcers, Black Spots On Tongue And Blister Under Tongue?
Dear Doc, my mom is having mouth ulcers... black spots on sides of tongue and a big red coloured blister under the tongue. A couple of days ago, because of throat pain, she took Erythromycin tablets, and Benedryl for caugh. Now, the throat pain is cured but the ulcers have come and very painful. Age 62/F. Please suggest to cure this...
As per your query it seems that she had an allergic reaction to erythromycin leading to formation of ulcers inside the mouth. As the medication is now stopped the ulcers will gradually resolve. As of now for supportive treatment you can gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia. Gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine for relief from pain especially during meals.. Suck ice pops and gargle with cool water. Take a multivitamin tablet daily.. Avoid hot and spicy food and take a cool bland diet..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
