How To Treat My Friend's Uterus Infection While She Is Having TB?

hi, i am sushma, my friens id suffering from TB infection. Initailly she has tried to conceive a baby but later on found that she has some infection in uterus. She is continuing the drugs of TB but one more complication found out that she has SLE. Her ANA test is pocsitive. what should be done?

Hello and welcome,

The SLE may be caused by antitubercular drug especially isoniazid and is very common. So please get an anti histone antibody test to rule out drug induced lupus.

Most of the time it resolves without causing symptoms after the antitubercular therapy is completed.

Steroids are mainly used for SLE but not advocated if antitubercular therapy is going on unless and until there is a pressing need for them. Please discuss this with your physician and get her evaluated for other manifestations of SLE.

Please do not worry as it may regress after stopping the TB drugs.
