How To Treat Neck Impingement With Swelling?

I don t normally have HBP, but I do have an inpingement in my neck. Last week my neck swelled and it caused the worst headache at the base of my skull, earache, jaw pain, eye pain and chest pains. also I have blood vessels bulging like a goose egg on the side of my neck. My BP was 188/119 and I was extremely dizzy. Whats wrong?

Hello,

You should start an antibiotic tablet Amoxycillin twice daily for 7 days. Do an ultrasound neck to see whether there is any abnormality in the neck. You have to control your blood pressure by consulting a physician.

For a headache, you can take Paracetamol thrice daily for 3 days. Sometimes general infection of the glands or lymph nodes causes swelling in the neck. We have to rule it out.

If necessary, FNAC of the swelling may be needed. This is the only biopsy of the swelling with the help of the needle. Check your thyroid profile test.
