How To Treat Ongoing Abscesses On The Arm When Still On Antibiotics?

my adult son has been getting abscesses on his right arm close to the elbow. He will still get a new abscess while on antibiotics. This has been going on for about a year. We live in central CA. The doctors at the county health clinic seem baffled. Have you any suggestions?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Any existing abscess needs to be drained to help in faster resolution. I would also advice that you get a pus culture sensitivity from the abscess to find out the causative organism and its antibiotic sensitivity so as a to guide appropriate antibiotic therapy according to sensitivity, since the present antibiotic does'nt seem to cover the bacterium causing the abscesses.
