How To Treat Pain And Bruise In Calf Muscle?

I have a history of thrombosis. I had a bad bruise on my calf that has been hurting a couple days and this afternoon it started to bleed profusely - spraying out until I managed to stop the bleeding. I don't have insurance. And the immediate concern is taken care of, but what do I do to prevent a blood clot or a secondary condition?
