How To Treat Pain And Swelling Caused Due To Lumbar Puncture?
My mother is 78yrs old and an Alzheimer patient. About a year ago she had a lumbar puncture. She seemed to have no side effects but for the past 4 or 5 months she has been complaining of pain rite at the site of the puncture. Today she could not get out of bed due to the pain. The area is puffy and she has muscle spasms up and down her spine. Could this be related to her lumbar puncture and should I seek immediate medical attention?

She had gone through the lumber puncture a year ago so this is vey unlikely that present symptoms could be due to this, of course this could be muscular spasm only, if the doubt need to be clear for trauma due to lumber puncture then clinical examination is must, hope this information helps, take care.
