Hi..
Can understand your concern..
I have read your complain keenly and would like to tell you that mostly after wisdom tooth removal an individual gets some swelling (known as POST EXTRACTION EDEMA) and discomfort which slowly goes away after 4 to 5 days or mostly in a weeks time along with proper medicines and following of post extraction instructions..
You must be prescribed with antibiotics and painkillers by your
dentist after removal of your wisdom tooth..
If swelling does not subside a corticosteroid
Dexamethasone is mostly given to the patient for 2 to 3 days to control edema...
BUT NO MEDICINE SHOULD BE TAKEN WITHOUT PROPER CLINICAL EXAMINATION AND WITHOUT ADVISED BY A DOCTOR.
Other part of your question is that having a second set of wisdom tooth is a rare finding and swelling cannot diagnose it because swelling is a common finding in wisdom tooth removal..
I would suggest you to see an ORAL SURGEON and get evaluated clinically and most probably taking a steroid course will help you reduce your swelling..
Taking antibiotics and painkillers as prescribed should be continued..
Other things you can do is to go warm saline gargles but should be done after 24 hours of extraction and NEVER before it..
Apply
cold ice packs on cheeks to relieve inflammation and swelling..
Maintain a good oral hygeine..
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards..
