How To Treat Pain And Swelling Of Vagina After Having Laparotomy?

I am a 25 year old female with a history of pelvic pain and a history of ovarian cysts. In December of 2009 I had my yearly pap which came back that I had a bacterial infection. I was prescribed Flagyll which I took. A month later I went to an ob because Im on the depo shot and am having periods which is not normal for me and intercourse with my husband feels like he is ripping me apart. We tried everything to make the pain go away changing positions etc... we were put on a no sex order until we can get this figured out. I went for a transvaginal ultrasound in Jan of this year and they could not find my ovaries. So I am having an exploratory laparotomy on april 22. I have also had horrible pain after the exams and just day to day. My ovaries swell to the point that u can feel them when touching my lower abdomen. And that is with no sex whatsoever. My dr. told us to try oral sex and it hurt for me to even have an orgasm. Then after the orgasm the pain gets horrific. what could this be?
