How To Treat Pain Around Right Side At Back Of Ribs?

i have had a pain around my right side back ribs for a while now. i thought maybe i had cracked a rib but after an x ray was told it wasnt that. the doctor told me it was probably muscular. i have tried tablets, injections, and the treatment that send electirc waves into the muscle and nothing works. what could it be?
