How To Treat Pain In Hip When Diagnosed With Arthritis?

I am in terrible pain due to hip arthritis. Is it right to have a CORTISONE INJECTION to tackle the inflamation? What else can I do to stop the pain asap as I have to work as a court interpreter on Monday and would not be able to work with this pain.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
I believe that you are suffering from osteoarthritis - an age related degenerative process.
Osteoarthritis is a progressive degenerative disease process which involves joint surfaces.
It can be prevented but there is no effective way to treat it.
When the pain is severe, cortisone injections have to be used to control the pain.
Other conservative measures like physiotherapy may be continued but conservative measures do not work if the damage to joint surface (cartilage) and surrounding joint surface is irreversible.
Total hip replacement may be considered as permanent cure of the degenerative disease.

Thanks and take care
