How To Treat Pain On Top Of The Foot After Noticing A Pop?

my mother was walking across a parking lot and heard and felt the top of her foot pop. Now she is in great pain. We have iced it twice and not swelling. I'm trying to get her to go to the doctor in the morning. Any ideas of what I should do for her? Female, 80, 5'3" 150 lb I think
