How To Treat Painless Lump In The Head?

Hi Doc, I have a painless lump in my head. It has be there for quite a while now (three years). Before then, it usually appears and disappear after few days, but it has now stayed for a long time. I went to see my GP like two years ago about it and she said it was body fat, that there is tendency of it coming/growing back if they remove it. I am just worried now that it will stay on my head forever, I really want to cut it off. Please advise on what to do.
