How To Treat Perforated Ear Drum?
I perforated my eardrum 10 years ago, and since that first time it seems to happen easier and easier. I saw an ENT and the perforation is of the pars flaccida. The doctor recommended either a tympanoplasty to strengthen the pars flaccida. Does that sound like a good option?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of perforated ear drum which could be due to number of reasons. Need not to worry. Visit ENT specialist once and get complete otoscopic examination done. You may need surgery if your perforated eardrum is severe or doesn't heal that is myringoplasty . It also seems to me that you also suffering from ear infection . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination so that infection can not spread to surroundings and avoid complications like vertigo . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 10 days before doing any procedure . Doctor may perform patching or surgery . For now keep your ear dry and give warm dry compresses on external ear .
